CNN viewers furious at Tapper’s ‘Kowtowing’ promotion to primetime – RedState

Let’s be honest. is it jake tapper or anything about CNN, the self-proclaimed most trusted name in news, newsworthy? Of course not. Whatever relevance CNN once had as news outlet It was destroyed from within, years ago. Jake Tapper and his fellow leftist lapdogs were largely to blame.

So why cover them at all?

Multiple reasons, most of which fall into the “trampling the grave” category. From the passing of CEO Jeff Zucker due to an “improper employment relationship” to Jeffrey Toobin’s “needs for instant gratification” to the downfall of the arrogant Chris Cuomo and the firing of Mr Potato Head Brian Stelter and John Harwood, the 24-hour news network founded by Ted Turner deserves every minute of the ridiculous “We told you so.” Even more so because CNN’s new boss, Chris Licht, was hired to save the sinking ship after she had already sunk.

Finally, in the last move (previously), the hopelessly biased Don Lemon was kicked out of his primetime gig and sent to a new morning show, to which Lemon insisted he was not demoted.

So now the real Popcorn time has begun.

As reported by the New York PostStarting this fall, as part of CNN’s new lineup, Jake Tapper will host CNN’s 9 p.m. the rudder months ago.

You may remember how Tapper merrily made a living by hitting the everything about Donald Trump’s drum for five years or more, to the point that “Saturday Night Live” parodied his battles with senior Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway, who, to her credit, was more than willing to do battle with the hopelessly biased host on a regular basis.

Well, a funny thing happened to old Jake after Licht’s arrival, as his friends fell, one by one. The change has been gradual but noticeable from the start: Jake was desperate to save his head from the chopping block and apparently willing to compromise his fictitious principles to save her.

Just one problem.

CNN regulars, as was the case with the Fox News regulars that became indignant every time a host dared to utter anything negative about Donald Trump, they have been furious ever since Licht began making good on his promise to return CNN to a legitimate news outlet rather than a leftist Democratic mouthpiece. When Tapper started selling his soul to save his ass, the attacks started in earnest, attacking Tapper and CNN for the move, and it couldn’t be more satisfying to watch it unfold.

Tapper will host a one-hour show at 9 pm beginning October 1. 10 and up to the midterms in early November, which the network says are temporary, but come on. If his ratings are positive, why wouldn’t the move be permanent, particularly given Licht’s overall goal? He would and will, unless the audience revolt boils over.

Licht, of course, sang Tapper’s praises, ludicrously telling (lying) the Hollywood Reporter on Thursday that “the world has come to trust Jake’s no-nonsense approach to covering the news, especially during high-stakes election cycles,” adding, the “tough reporting, smart analysis and consequential interviews as our audiences navigate the myriad of issues at stake in the midterms,” as The Post noted.

Dude made Jake Tapper sound like Walter Cronkite.

CNN viewers were livid, with some claiming that Tapper’s shift in left-leaning reports toward “more centrist and conservative takes” amounts to “indulging” and “kissing” his new bosses, which is exactly what “trying to save his own skin” means. “. host has been desperately trying to do. Another source who previously worked for Tapper described him as “very ambitious” and “hard-working,” with a “healthy ego.” I don’t know about the first two attributes, but the “healthy ego” certainly.

An angry viewer tweeted:

Getting promoted for kissing the new lords of the right/Trumper, huh Jake?

A little stretch, mate.

moaned another:

Don’t watch Jake Tapper on CNN. Just don’t do it. He is taking the lead with Chris Licht as Trump and MAGA’s reputation advocates.

All of these people have no idea of his irreparable bias and his insistence that they only be told what they want to hear. Hmm…

Another liberal viewer wrote on Twitter: “Jake drank kool-aid,” and yet another: “This is not journalism; this is pleasing the new boss,” “I figured you were one of the good guys,” he summed up. And by “one of the good guys,” the viewer meant, as I suggested, above:

“You told us exactly what we wanted to hear and now you’re pathetically biased for trying to be ‘fair and balanced’ – another network’s catchphrase has generally become insignificant.

Here are some of Tapper’s most serious transgressions, through the mail:

[U]nder Licht, the anchor recently made some unusual overtures to the right, including suggesting that President Biden invite Trump to join the American delegation to Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in London.

In May, Tapper shocked when he interrupted a White House adviser who blamed Vladimir Putin for high gas prices. And last month, she shared an article on Twitter written by Salena Zito, a conservative columnist for the New York Post and the Washington Examiner, about the race for the US Senate seat in Pennsylvania.

Tapper also retweeted Ivanka Trump’s endorsement of “Breaking History,” written by her husband, Jared Kushner. The book was gutted by the Times and other reviewers, and the tweet caused some outlets to question whether Tapper’s account had been hacked.

A CNN spokesperson tried to have it both ways:

Jake was not ‘promoted’. He agreed to host the 9p hour for a month as part of a special programming schedule. He has always been an aggressive reporter and tough but fair interviewer who spouts nonsense and lies regardless of the source of it. He has not been asked to change nor would he. Anyone who watches CNN knows this.

That could very well be true: Tapper has not been asked to change. It may be many things, but stupid, it’s not. Watching his comrades fall one by one, and more likely to fall, CNN’s top chameleon has simply changed color, for as long as it takes to save his job on “The Most Trusted Name in America.” News”.

Tapper was not available for comment.
